Hoosiers Seek Fifth Straight at No. 22 Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. — Indiana men's soccer (7-3-4, 3-1-2 B1G) will look to continue its Big Ten Conference surge on Tuesday (Oct. 23) in a road matchup with No. 22 Northwestern (9-2-3, 3-2-1 B1G).
Fans can watch the match on the Big Ten Network. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET.
KICKING OFF
• Indiana carries a four-match winning streak, including a three-game streak in Big Ten games, into Tuesday's match. A win will bolster Hoosier hopes for a conference regular season title as well as IU's NCAA Tournament résumé.
• Junior forward Samuel Sarver has tallied five goal contributions (three goals, two assists) during IU's four-game streak. Sarver scored the winning goal in IU's 2-1 victory at Maryland on Friday.
• Senior forward Karsen Henderlong assisted Sarver's winning goal, marking his fourth goal contribution (three goals, one assist) in five games.
• The matchup features two of the top scorers in the Big Ten. Sarver ranks tied-for-third in goals (6), assists (4) and points (16). Northwestern senior forward Justin Weiss leads the league in points with 21 (Seven goals, seven assists).

• Northwestern is 9-2-3, 3-2-1 in Big Ten matches and 7-1-1 at home. The Wildcats have dropped their last two matches after starting the year undefeated in their first 12 matches.
• Northwestern is led by head coach Russell Payne, who owns a 18-20-11 record over three seasons in Evanston and an 87-105-42 career mark over 14 seasons as a head coach.

• Indiana has historically dominated the series with Northwestern, winning 36 of the 46 matches. The Hoosiers won the first 20 matches between 1983 and 2003.
• IU has won 10 of the last 11 matches in the series including each of the last five. Last season, Indiana went down 1-0 in the 48th minute and responded with three goals in the next four minutes before winning 4-1.
• Seven members of the current squad have recorded a goal or assist - Maouloune Goumballe, Quinten Helmer, Karsen Henderlong, Tommy Mihalic, Jansen Miller, Samuel Sarver and Nate Ward.
