Opening Tip
• Indiana University continues its 124th season of competition in men's basketball at the Empire Classic against Louisville. The game will be played at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, at Madison Square Garden on ESPNU.
• The Cardinals meet the Hoosiers in the third-place game after dropping an 81-80 game at the buzzer against No. 19/17 Texas in the semifinal game of the Empire Classic on Sunday evening. UofL is 2-2 entering the game.
• Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and the KFC Yum! Center are approximately a 98-mile drive apart. The game will mark the second between the two teams in Madison Square Garden.
• Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and Louisville head coach Kenny Payne overlapped by a year (2020-21) on the bench of the New York Knicks.

• Future NBA Lottery pick Romeo Langford paced IU with a team-best 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. All-Big Ten performer Juwan Morgan tallied 15 points and a pair of blocked shots.

• Sophomore forward Malik Reneau tallied a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor to go along with three rebounds, three blocks, and one steal before fouling out in 27 minutes in a 77-57 loss to No. 5/4 UConn in the opening round of the Empire Classic.

• The Hoosiers, led by then junior Mike Woodson, defeated Ohio State (64-55) in the NIT semifinals and No. 15 Purdue (53-52) in the NIT title game. Woodson finished with 12 points in the game, one of four Hoosiers to produce double figures.
• Woodson was selected 12th overall by the New York Knicks in the 1980 NBA Draft. He went on to spend five seasons on the sideline of Madison Square Garden, including three seasons as head coach.
Sophomore Jump for Reneau
• Sophomore forward Malik Reneau has scored at least 14 points in all four games this season, including a career-high 18 points against No. 5/4 UConn (Nov. 19).
• The Miami, Fla., native scored in double figures in seven games during his freshman campaign, while hitting 14 points or more just twice.
• Reneau is averaging 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and a team-high 1.8 blocks in 30 minutes per game.
Big Man on Campus
• Sophomore center Kel'el Ware, a transfer from Oregon, leads the team in points per game (16.5) and rebounds (9.5). He has also posted 1.5 blocks while shooting 59.5% in 33 minutes per game.
• The North Little Rock, Ark., native posted his first career double-double (13p, 12r) in his Indiana debut against Florida Gulf Coast (Nov. 7). His second-career double-double came against Wright State (Nov. 16) with 22 points and 12 boards.

• Indiana averages 36.0 points per game in the paint and shoots 59.6% (84-of-141) from inside the arc. The Hoosiers hold opponents to 23.5 points per night in the key.
