
Geddes Goes for Career-High 18 Kills in Victory at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - When the Hoosiers needed it the most, senior outside hitter Morgan Geddes stepped up to the challenge, providing a career-high 18 kills in a win at Rutgers on Friday night (Nov. 3) at Jersey Mike's Arena.
The Indiana volleyball team responded from a tough first set to win the following three sets in a 3-1 victory (21-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18) on Friday evening in New Jersey.
IU's win snapped a two-game losing streak and handed the team its 17th win of the season, the most victories in a single campaign since 2016. The Hoosiers are guaranteed a winning season for the first time since 2018.
Freshman libero Ramsey Gary recorded 23 digs, her seventh-straight match with 20+ digs. She broke IU's 15-year-old freshman digs record on Friday night. She's got 423 on the season and will challenge for IU's all-time single season record of 525 over the final seven games.
Junior setter Camryn Haworth dished out 48 assists in just four sets, averaging 12 per set. She dug 15 balls and tallied four kills in the win. Three IU hitters went for 10+ kills while the team hit a collective .290 with 61 kills.
A quick turnaround for IU will see it head to Columbus for an important November matchup at Ohio State. IU is searching for its 18th win of the season which would be the most since 2010.

• After struggling in the first set, IU responded nicely over the final three. The Hoosiers hit .333 or better in the final three sets and a collective .290 for the match.

#10 Haworth, Camryn
• IU's outstanding setter ran a balanced offense on Friday night, helping the Hoosiers hit .290 collectively while dishing out 48 helpers in the win.
• Her 48 assists were her most in a four-set match since handing out 50 against Western Carolina in September of 2022. Over her past three matches, she's gone for 148 assists, the most by an IU setter in a three-game run of Big Ten contests since 2012.
• Haworth added 15 digs and four kills while forcing Rutgers into a number overpasses from the service line in the final three games.
#32 Gary, Ramsey
• Gary cemented herself as the best freshman libero the program has ever seen, breaking IU's single-season freshman digs record on Friday night.
• She broke Caitlin Cox's 2008 freshman digs record (402) with 23 on Friday night, her seventh-straight match with 20+ digs.
• During the 25-point rally era (since 2008), she is tied for the most 20-dig matches in a single season with nine. Her seven-straight matches with 20+ digs are the most by an IU player in the current scoring system era.
#16 Geddes, Morgan
• Nursing some late-season injuries, IU's senior outside hitter stepped up to the table when IU needed it the most. She went for a career-high 18 kills including the match winner in set four.
• She hit .375 on the match (18-3-40) while also blocking a career-high six shots, four of those solo stuffs. Her 18 kills are tied for the most in a match this season by an IU player (Alonso-Corcelles vs. Michigan).
#18 Rammelsberg, Kaley
• Shaking off a slow start, Rammelsberg recorded her fifth-straight match with 10+ kills. She hit .348 on the night (11-3-23) in the victory.

Set 1: Rutgers 25, Indiana 21
• IU was plagued from the service line in the first set, recording six service errors while getting aced twice by the hosts.
• Geddes went for six kills in the opening set but a strong Rutgers block (six blocks) made the difference as it took a 25-21 first set victory.
• Rutgers' lead got as big as six with a late 19-13 advantage. IU defended the first two set points which forced a timeout from the Scarlet Knights. Rammelsberg was blocked by opposite hitter Tina Grkovic out of the timeout, giving Rutgers the early advantage at home.
