Indiana Finishes Competition at Sheridan Tournament with Two Champions

BETHLEHEM, Pa. –––– Indiana Wrestling concluded competition at the Sheridan Tournament with two individual champions and six total placers on Friday at Stabler Arena.

Redshirt freshman Tyler Lillard (165) and redshirt senior No. 10 DJ Washington (174) each won the bracket for their weight class.

Indiana's other podium-finishers were redshirt freshman Blaine Frazier (125 lbs., 2^nd place), senior Nico Bolivar (157 lbs., 4^th place), redshirt sophomore Roman Rogotzke (184 lbs., 4^th place) and redshirt freshman Gabe Sollars (197 lbs., 3^rd place).

Sixteen total Hoosiers competed against wrestlers from nine other teams. There was no team scoring conducted for the tournament.

KEY MOMENTS
• No. 10 DJ Washington (174) dominated his way to the title with his first three wins coming by tech falls in the first period. His title match was a 4-2 decision win over Ben Pasiuk (Army).
• Tyler Lillard (165) outscored his three opponents by a combined 21 points to win the title at 165 lbs.
• Outside of his one loss in the semifinals, Gabe Sollars (197) had four wins by pin.
• Blaine Frazier (125) had one of his best matches of his career in the semifinals when he defeated Eric Howe (Franklin & Marshall) by tech fall, 16-0 (6:45)

• Lillard (165) and Washington (174) both won their first invitational tournament of the season.
