IUWT Heads West for Pair of Dual Matches

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis travels west to compete against Utah (Feb. 17) at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City. The Hoosiers will head to Boulder, Colorado on Sunday for a match against Colorado.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana dropped the only match in the series against the Utes on Jan. 30, 2022, 5-2 at the IU Tennis Center.
• This will be the second match up in program history between the two squads.
• Indiana will face Colorado for the first time in program history.
STATS
• The matches can be viewed and followed on live video and live stats for Utah.
• Colorado will provide live stats, but there will be no live video of the match.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Hoosiers defeated Xavier 4-3 in a close match at the IU Tennis Center last Saturday.
• Indiana's No. 1 double duo Lara Schneider and Saby Nihalani went down to the wire at No. 1 doubles to earn the doubles point in a 7-6 match
• Schneider also won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while Nihalani won at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-1.
• Mila Mejic won at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2, enough to clinch the team victory for the Hoosiers.
• Redshirt sophomore Lara Schneider is 2-0 in singles matches after dominating performances against Cincinnati and West Virginia.
ABOUT THE HOOSIERS
• Indiana has now won two of its last three matches and improves to 5-2 on the season.
• The Hoosiers are 5-2 to start the season.
• Mejic leads the team with six singles win on the season. However, Nihalani is close with a record of 5-1 in singles matches.
• Schneider and Nihalani are 6-1 on the season with a win streak of four in doubles matches.
