
Indiana Earns Semifinal Appearance in Palm Coast

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Indiana men's golf advanced to the semifinal round of the Big Ten Match Play Championships on Friday afternoon at the Hammock Beach Resort after earning the tiebreaker against Rutgers (2.5-2.5) in the quarterfinal round.
Fifth-year senior Mitch Davis salvaged the round by earning a tie with Luke Wells despite being down three with six holes to play. Indiana will take on Michigan, who defeated Michigan State, in the semifinal round beginning at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday.

"It was a battle out there and the conditions were not great," head coach Mike Mayer said. "It was very cold and windy, but the team fought hard to earn the result we came here for.
"Once again, it came down to Mitch Davis and a birdie on the final hole of the day.
"It was a nice team effort, but we have to come back tomorrow and be ready to take on a tough Michigan team."
UP NEXT
The Hoosiers and Wolverines will open action in the first of two semifinal matchups at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday morning. The winner of the match with face off with the winner of the Minnesota-Northwestern matchup in the title match later Saturday afternoon in the championship round.
