Indiana Aims to Defend Big Ten Match Play Championship Titles

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana will open the spring slate with the 2023 Big Ten Match Play Championship starting on Feb. 3. The event will be held at the Ocean Course at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• No. 38 Northwestern is the lone team that ranks inside the top-50 of the last GolfStat poll (Nov. 15). Indiana ranks No. 66 in the poll.
• The Hoosiers enter the tournament as the two-time defending champion. The program has won the event three times over the 14 years of competition.
• The nine teams have been drawn into a single-elimination bracket, with the seeds determined using the Nov. 15, 2022, final fall Golfstat rankings.
• Indiana will begin the weekend with a matchup against Minnesota at 8 a.m. ET on Friday morning. The duel is not a part of the championship bracket but will count for season rankings purposes.
• The Friday afternoon session is slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET with No. 3 Indiana taking the course against No. 6 Rutgers.
• Saturday morning will begin with the championship semifinals and consolation semifinals at 8 a.m. ET. The championship, third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches will begin at the conclusion of the semifinal round.
