
Hoosiers Improve to 4-0 on Day Two of the Lady Bison Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Indiana Softball (13-9) toppled Evansville (13-8), 13-1, and Lipscomb (8-11), 10-0, in five innings to win the series on day two of the Lady Bison Classic at Draper Diamond.
GAME 1: INDIANA 13, EVANSVILLE 1
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Sarah Stone hit a 3 RBI home run to left field to take an early lead in the top of the first.
• A sac fly up the middle from freshman Taryn Kern would score another run for the Hoosiers to take a 4-0 lead.
• Lindsey Warick hit an RBI single to score Copeland in the third inning.
• IU earned the victory in five innings after scoring eight runs in the top of the fifth inning.
• Minnick and Stone continued the momentum with two hits before Copeland doubles down the line earning two RBI.
• Junior Brooke Benson earned two more RBI on a base hit to extend the lead.
• Kern came up big again for the Hoosiers as she hit a three RBI bomb to center field for the victory.
GAME 2: INDIANA 10, LIPSCOMB 0
KEY MOMENTS
• Copeland put the Hoosiers up in the top of the first with a 2 RBI double before she struck out the first three batters to close the inning.
• Junior Aaliyah Andrews hit a two RBI homer over the right field wall to put the Hoosiers up, 4-0, in the top of the second.
• Kern followed Andrews up with her second home run on the day to extend the lead.
• The Bison earned two hits in the bottom of the second, but Copeland would get the batter to swing for the strikeout.
• Freshman Avery Parker hit her first career home run in the top of the third totaling two RBI as the Hoosiers extended their lead, 7-0.
• In the top of the sixth, IU added three runs behind a two RBI double from Minnick and an RBI from Parker.
NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers totaled 13 hits with 12 RBI against the Aces and 10 hits with 10 RBI versus Lipscomb.
• Kern hit her third home run on the weekend.
• Minnick and Copeland combined for four doubles today. The sophomore duo leads the team with five a piece this season.
• Indiana hit a total of five home runs in the pair of wins today.
• Kern hit her third home run on the weekend.
• Andrews and Parker hit their first home runs of the season against the Bison.
• IU combined for nine stolen bases between the two games bringing their season total to 54.
• Copeland improved to 5-0 on the season, totaling eight strikeouts against the Bison.
