KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Indiana will have five individual finalists and one relay in the third night of finals at the 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Two Hoosier divers qualified for finals on the 3-meter springboard. Junior Anne Fowler put up a 345.10 to finish fourth in the prelim, just 7.40 points off the leader. Sophomore Skyler Liu earned her first All-America honor with a B-final qualifying score of 324.10.
Three of five Hoosiers swimmers qualified for finals after several Hoosiers scratched events to focus on their priority events.
Sophomore Anna Peplowski, the Big Ten's 200-yard freestyle champion, got into the NCAA championship final with a 1:43:27 – her career-best non-relay split. Notably, Peplowski swam a 1:42.86 split to kick off the 800 freestyle relay on Wednesday, breaking her own program record. She will have a chance to break it again while challenging for a national title on Friday night.
Seniors Mackenzie Looze and Noelle Peplowski both advanced to B finals as the No. 15 seeds in their respective events. For the first time since her 2019 freshman season, Looze earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:09.33. Meanwhile, Peplowski earned the top-16 accolade for a third-straight season with a 59.18 swim.
