
Indiana Men’s Tennis to Face Rival Purdue on Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– The Indiana Men's Tennis team will be back in action this weekend to kick off their conference slate of the schedule with their first Big Ten match coming at rival Purdue at noon on Saturday.
For much of the remainder of the regular season, Indiana will have just conference matches on the docket. Indiana plays all nine conference opponents and two non-conference teams down the stretch.
Indiana has won four of the last five matches over Purdue, dating back to the 2017-18 season. The one loss in that stretch was last season.
Entering the matchup, Indiana holds a 10-6 record on the season with many areas of strength in both the singles and doubles lineups.
The Hoosiers have been especially dominant in doubles play with a combined record of 27-11 across all doubles combinations. No. 3 doubles duo Ekansh Kumar and Luka Vukovic have posted a 9-4 record to this point while No. 1 doubles team Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky have been nearly flawless together with a 7-1 mark.
In singles play, freshman Sam Landau leads the way with an impressive 9-1 record in his first collegiate season at No. 3 singles. No. 4 Singles player Ilya Tiraspolsky is 7-4 while Kumar has an 8-5 mark at No. 6 singles.
Purdue comes into the match with a 1-10 record on the season.
