Indiana Drops Close Match to Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. –––– Indiana Men's Tennis lost at Penn State, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Sarni Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers got off to a good start in the match by taking the doubles point.
Penn State won at No. 2 doubles before Indiana won No. 3 doubles and Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky dug deep to win a close No. 1 doubles match, 7-6 (7-4).
In singles, Penn State took a 3-1 lead by winning three-straight matches at No. 3, 2 and 1 singles.
Indiana fought back with wins from Ilya Tiraspolsky and Ekansh Kumar at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, to make it 3-3.
Penn State would close out the match with a win at No. 5 singles to seal it.
With the loss, Indiana's record falls to 12-13 and 1-7 in Big Ten play.
Indiana will close out the regular season tomorrow with a match vs. Ohio State at noon in Columbus.
