BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Noah Koch put together an impressive all-around weekend for the Hoosiers, improving on season's bests in both the shot put and discus.
After throwing 18.36m/60-3 and becoming the sixth 60-foot shot putter in program history on Friday night, Koch returned to the ring to throw 56.10m/184-1 in the discus.
His mark in the discus on Saturday moved him into fifth in program history in the event, moving past Kurt Krick (1998) and Mike Minton (2000) on the school's all-time list.
The Genoa, Ohio native is now one of two athletes in program to possess top-six marks in the shot put and discus outdoors in program history, joining Ryan Ketchum in an elite group.
In his first season as a Hoosier, Koch has put together a solid resume. He threw 18.81m/61-8.5 (shot put) and 20.90m/68-7 (weight throw) indoors, giving him four total top-six marks in program history in just four months competing for IU.

Mahogany Jenkins matched her personal best in the high jump on Saturday afternoon, continuing her strong run of results this outdoor season.
Moved indoors due to weather, Jenkins cleared 1.81m/5-11.75 enroute to a second-place finish on total misses.
She went on to attempt three tries at a would-be school record height of 1.84m/6-0.5 but would not get over the bar. Taylor Schoonveld was fifth after clearing 1.68m/5-6.
Serena Bolden moved into the top-10 in program history in the 100 meters after winning the final in 11.72. She draws level with Karen Wechsler (1980) at No. 10 in school history in the event.
Battling windy conditions on the back stretch, Keefer Soehngen raced to a 1:51.76 in the 800 meters in a heat paced by Camden Marshall.
Trelee Banks ran a pair of season's bests in the 100 meters, clocking a 10.67 in the prelims before dropping his time to 10.64 in the finals.
Jaylen Grimes had a productive weekend for IU, running 22.69 (200 meters) and 49.78 (400 meters) before taking third-leg duties in the 4x400 relay to close out the day.
The Hoosiers continue the outdoor season next week at the prestigious Penn Relays. IU is expected to field a lineup of events that includes the Distance Medley Relay, Sprint Medley Relay and 4xMile in Philadelphia.
