5-Seed Hoosiers Match Up Against 4-Seed Cal In MPSF Tournament

BLOOMIINGTON, Ind. – No. 17 Indiana travels to San Jose, Calif. to compete for the MPSF title beginning on Friday. They will open up play against 4-seed California at 5:30 p.m. ET.

NOTES

Graduate student goalie Mary Askew was the Hoosiers lone representative on the All-MPSF teams, announced on Wednesday. Askew earned her first conference honor of her career.
Senior Zoe Crouch and sophomore Sophia Sollie lead the Hoosiers' offense with 40 goals each. Crouch leads in overall points with 64, which includes 24 assists this season. Freshman Louisa Downes leads IU with 25 assists and Askew is the team's leader in steals with 33.
The Hoosiers go into the tournament with the most wins (17) since the 2018 season when they went 25-9.
IU and Cal met once this season in Berkley where the No. 19 Hoosiers battled with then No. 3 Cal at Spieker Aquatics Center on March 18. Freshman Louisa Downes had a hattrick as Indiana battled from as many as a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter. Askew recorded 12 saves in the cage in the loss.

Friday's winner will play top seed USC at 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 29. The non-advancing team will receive a bye and play in the 5th place game on Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. ET.
