PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - A day after getting tripped up in the Distance Medley Relay, Camden Marshall returned to the track in fine form, running one of the fastest 800 carries in program history.
IU's men finished 6th in the 4x800 relay at the Penn Relays in 7:20.96, the sixth-fastest time in program history outdoors.
Marshall supplied a 1:46.68 second-leg carry, the fastest of any athlete in the entire race. His time is second only in program history to Cooper Williams' 2019 leg at the Penn Relays (1:46.5).
Keefer Soehngen ran an outstanding 1:48.58 to pair with carries from Keelan Grant and Dustin Horter to close out the weekend for IU.
The quartet of Maddie Dalton, Sarah Schmitt, Jenna Barker and Phoebe Bates clocked the No. 2 time in program history in the 4x1500 relay, finishing the race in 17:39.23.
Schmitt and Dalton both returned to the track after supplying legs in a Distance Medley Relay team Friday that ran the No. 6 mark in school history outdoors (11:14.08).
Antonio Laidler finished fourth in the championship race of the 100 meters, clocking a time of 10.52 into a headwind. He improved by four spots on his eighth-place finish from a season ago at the Penn Relays.
Jayden Ulrich recorded a mark of 16.65m/54-7.5 in the shot put to finish third while Mahogany Jenkins triple jumped 12.53m/41-1.5 on Saturday afternoon.
The Hoosiers will close out the regular season next weekend at home with the Billy Hayes Invitational.
