Ulrich Betters Discus School Record in California

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Already the owner of the program record in the discus throw, Jayden Ulrich pushed the mark further in her favor on Friday night (April 7) in San Diego.

A resounding throw of 59.29m/194-6 bested her own record by nearly a foot and handed her the Big Ten lead by over two meters.

The East Alton, Ill. native is now the owner of the fifth-best mark in the nation this season and has the top-three throws in program history.

After winning the Big Ten title in the event last year as a freshman, Ulrich has put herself in firm contention to repeat and earn All-American honors this summer.

With Paola Fernandez-Sola's impressive mark of 6.49m/21-3.5 in the long jump at the Tennessee Invite, the Hoosiers took the Big Ten lead in two women's field events on the same day.

IU continues its stay in San Diego tomorrow with Ulrich, Noah Koch and Makayla Hunter all set to compete.
