SARASOTA, Fla. – Indiana rowing won three races against a highly rated field during the first day of the Big Ten Invitational Friday (April 7) at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.

The third and final session of the Big Ten Invitational will take place Saturday (April 8) morning with the first race set for 8:30 a.m. ET. Indiana's first race is slated for 8:50 a.m., and the Hoosiers will take on crew from No. 11 Ohio State, No. 12 Duke, No. 13 Michigan, No. 15 SMU and Rutgers during the session.

KEY MOMENTS
- Indiana's Second Varsity 4 grabbed a win in the afternoon session, finishing ahead of Wisconsin and UCF. The group also earned a second-place finish in the morning behind No. 15 SMU and ahead of No. 13 Michigan.
- In the afternoon session, IU's First Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 both finished runner-up to No. 6 Brown, while finishing faster than both Wisconsin and UCF. IU's boats were within seven seconds of first place in both races.
- IU's Second Novice 8 boat won both of its races on Friday, each by a margin of at least seven seconds.
- Hoosier boats placed second or better in eight of 14 races on Friday.
