Hunter Throws Personal Best in Javelin at Triton Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The throws group put in a solid weekend's work, wrapping up the Triton Invitational in San Diego on Saturday (April 8) afternoon.
Makayla Hunter opened the day with a personal best mark in the javelin, the second-consecutive week with an improvement on her lifetime best.
Her throw of 48.36m/158-8 remains the fourth-best mark in the Big Ten and continues to sit No. 4 in program history.
She proceeded to throw an outdoor personal best of 15.07m/49-5.5 in the shot put to complete her busy double in California.
Jayden Ulrich threw an outdoor season's best in the shot put of 17.06m/55-11.75. She now possesses the No. 1 mark in the discus and the No. 2 mark in the shot put in the Big Ten in 2023.
Noah Koch took three attempts in the discus, launching a near season's best of 54.83m/179-10.
IU returns to action next weekend with a split weekend at Louisville, Bryan Clay (Distance) and Mt. Sac (Heptathlon).
