No. 20 IU Closes Weekend at Big Ten Invite

SARASOTA, Fla. – No. 20-ranked Indiana rowing finished its weekend at the Big Ten Invitational racing highly rated crews in its Saturday (April 8) morning session at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
"This was a big weekend for us," junior Megan Mills said. "We improved each race, and it is leaving us excited for the Big Ten Championships as a team."
"I think this weekend lit a fire in us," sophomore Clare Hunsberger said. "We were able to identify really strong parts of our races and what we need to improve. This was a great opportunity to gauge where we are in comparison to other conferences and get ready for Big Tens. We have a big five weeks ahead of us, and this weekend just keeps the wheels rolling."

Indiana will host Ohio State for a scrimmage next weekend before returning to competitive action on April 22, when it will face Ohio State and Michigan State in Columbus, Ohio.

- Indiana raced crews from No. 11 Ohio State, No. 12 Duke, No. 13 Michigan, No. 15 SMU and Rutgers during Saturday's session.
- IU won three races during the weekend.
- Indiana's Novice 8 crew finished second in a close finish, trailing Duke by about 1.7 seconds and outpacing Rutgers by over 12 seconds.
