
Indiana Welcomes Wolverines to Bill Armstrong Stadium

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana men's soccer (3-3-2, 0-1-1 B1G) is back at Bill Armstrong Stadium on Tuesday (Sept. 26) as it welcomes Michigan (2-3-3, 1-0-1 B1G) in Big Ten Conference play.
The Big Ten Network will broadcast the match with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET. Fans can also stream the match on foxsports.com.
Tuesday is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The first 150 IU faculty/staff members in attendance will receive a concession voucher.
SETTING THE SCENE
• Indiana is 3-1-1 at Bill Armstrong Stadium this season, earning four clean sheets.
• Junior Samuel Sarver has scored in back-to-back matches. Last Tuesday, his goal gave IU a 1-0 win over Butler. Then, on Friday, Sarver tied the match at No. 18 Michigan State at 1-1 in the 20th minute.
• At 3-3-2, Indiana is not unfamiliar with slow starts. In 2021, IU was 5-3-1 on Oct. 6 before recording seven straight shutout victories that month. Last season, IU was 4-2-3 on Oct. 5 and
eventually finished as the national runner-up. Over the last two season, the Hoosiers are 11-3-4 in the month of October.
ABOUT THE WOLVERINES
• Michigan State is 2-3-3 and coming off a 3-2 victory over Rutgers on Friday after coming back from down 2-0 at the half.
• The Wolverines are led by 12th-year head coach Chaka Daley, who has compiled a 92-83-37 record at UM and a 182-194-64 record in 24 seasons as a head coach.
• Senior midfielder Bryce Blevins and freshman forward Alex Waggoner lead the Wolverines with three goals apiece. Blevins has also recorded two assists to lead the team in points with eight.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana has dominated the all-time series with Michigan, owning a 23-4-4 record against the Wolverines.
• Indiana is 5-0 against Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament including ties broken by penalty kicks. In IU's run of three straight tournament titles between 2018-2020, the first two championship matches were wins against Michigan.
