ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 16 Indiana picked up wins over No. 25 Marist (15-8) and Salem (21-5) on day one of the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday at Canaham Natatorium.

KEY MOMENTS VS. MARIST
- Despite allowing a powerplay goal to open the game, senior defender Sophie Wazzan opened scoring for the Hoosiers at 5:25 in the first quarter. Graduate student Zoe Crouch, sophomore Louisa Downes and sophomore Megan Holcomb also recorded goals.
- The Hoosiers started the second period strong, scoring three goals in the first two minutes. These came from junior Sophia Sollie, as well as an additional goal for both Crouch and Downes. After a quiet four minutes, the Hoosiers scored with 41 seconds remaining on a goal from sophomore Grace Klingler in powerplay to take an 8-6 lead at the break.
- The third period saw Marist score first, only for Indiana to respond with three unanswered goals from senior Kiki Mein, as well as additional goals from Downes and Klingler. The Hoosiers were up 11-7 at the end of the third.
- The Hoosiers kept their foot on the gas in the fourth period, outscoring the Red Wolves 4-1 on goals from freshman Gwyneth Le, Crouch, and two from Sollie. The Hoosiers won the match 15-8.
KEY MOMENTS VS. SALEM
- The Hoosiers scored at the 18th second of the first period behind senior Kallie White. After giving up two, Indiana tied it up with a goal from senior Kiki Mein and took the lead soon after with back-to-back goals from Klingler. Wazzan continued the trend with a goal, followed by another from Crouch. Crouch then scored on a penalty shot. The Hoosiers ended the first period hot, up 7-2.
- The second period started slower than the first with the first goal coming with 6:29 left thanks to a score from Mein. Freshman Helga Terol Salvi scored less than a minute later, and soon after, Mein posted another goal. Salvi scored again for the Hoosiers. The Hoosiers ended the first half up 11-3.
- Indiana outscored the Tigers, 10-2, in the third and fourth quarters as junior Claire Witting and freshmen Gwenyth Le got on the board in the game as well.
NOTES
- Crouch, Sollie and Downs all recorded hat tricks in the win over Marist. Grace Klingler recorded two goals.
- Crouch led all point scorers as she also recorded three assists for six points total.
- Klingler won two sprints and junior Olivia Stark recorded another.
- The Hoosiers won all four sprints against Salem.
- Wazzan led the team with five assists, as Downes chipped in four and White added three.
- Three scored hat tricks against the Salem (Crouch, Terol Salvi and Mein).
- Jasmine Higgs and Haley Hunter combined for ten saves and only five goals allowed versus Salem.
