
No. 14 Hoosiers Host Akron in NCAA Tournament Second Round

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 14 national seed Indiana men's soccer (10-4-5, 7-1-2 B1G) will open its 2024 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament run Sunday (Nov. 24) hosting Akron (12-4-4, 7-0-1 BIG EAST) on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and tickets are on sale here. Indiana University students that show a valid Crimson Card will receive free admission. Fans unable to attend can watch the match on the ESPN+ digital platform.
KICKING OFF
• The matchup features two high-powered offenses and some of the nation's best attackers. Indiana averages 2.1 goals per game, while the Zips boast a 2.4 mark. The Hoosiers are led by Samuel Sarver (70 career points), two-time first-team All-Big Ten winner Justin Weiss (61) and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Tommy Mihalic (56). Akron's Emil Jaaskelainen is the nation's active career leader in goals (66) and points (154) and will be accompanied by Dyson Clapier (56 career points).
• IU is the NCAA Tournament's winningest program by both total wins (104) and percentage (.730) and owns records for consecutive tournament appearances (38), tournament victories (104), and appearances in the round of 16 (42), quarterfinal (29), final four (22) and title match (17).
• Indiana has reached the NCAA Tournament Third Round each of the last nine seasons – the nation's longest active streak.
