
Indiana Handles Wisconsin In Big Ten Home Opener

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior forward Lilly Meister tied her career-high 20 points as Indiana shot 53.3 percent from the floor in an 83-52 win over Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

KEY MOMENTS
- After a brief lead by Wisconsin to open the game, the Hoosiers (10-3, 2-0 B1G) used a 10-0 run including a 3-pointer from junior guard Yarden Garzon on the cross-court pass from junior guard Shay Ciezki to make it a 13-4 advantage.
- Indiana led by as many as 15 with just under three minutes to go but the Badgers (10-3, 1-1 B1G) connected on three-straight 3-pointer to make it a 21-17 edge at the end of the first.
- In the second, IU outscored UW, 21-6, as a graduate student guard Sydney Parrish triple and Meister put one in for two on a feed from Garzon early in the frame. On the defensive end, Indiana held Wisconsin without a field goal for the final 4:58 and turning that into a 10-0 run including a Moore-McNeil triple to take a 42-23 lead at the break.
- Just six points were given up by Indiana in the third, tying the fewest points scored by an opponent in a quarter this season. Meister and Parrish took advantage by adding eight points each.
- The Hoosiers went 54.5 percent in the fourth, which also included first career points from freshman forward Faith Wiseman.

- Meister led the way with 20 points, tying her career-high set for the third time this season. Four players notched double figures with 14 from Ciezki, along with three steals, and 13 each from Garzon and Parrish.
- With her seven assists Moore-McNeil moved into the top five in program assists, passing Heather Cassady at 411. She now has 416 career assists.
- Garzon scored her 900th career point by adding 13 points with three 3-pointers on the afternoon. She now has She also added a career-high four blocks and led the way on the glass with seven boards.
- IU set a season-high 10 blocks in the effort behind Garzon's career high and a pair by senior forward Karoline Striplin.
- Indiana shared the sugar, posting 25 assists on 32 made shots. It posted 20-plus assists for the sixth time this season and fourth-straight game. IU is 6-0 when dishing out 20 or more assists.
- The Hoosiers set a season-low with just eight turnovers.
- Sophomore guard Julianna LaMendola also added to the score sheet as she went 3-for-3 from the field for eight points.
- Indiana won its 11th-straight game over the Badgers in Saturday's victory.
