Indiana Defeats FAMU 12-0 on Sunday

TROY, Ala. –––– Indiana finished out the weekend at the Troy Invitational with their best performance of the weekend, defeating Florida A&M, 12-0, in five innings.
The Hoosiers went 4-1 on the weekend, defeating Florida A&M and Troy twice and dropping one game to Gardner-Webb on Saturday. Sunday's win pushes Indiana's record to 8-2 on the season.
INDIANA 12, FAMU 0 (F/5)
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana got off to a great start in the top of the first inning, with juniors Taylor Minnick and Sarah Stone each recording an RBI to put the Hoosiers up 2-0.
• Sophomore Cassidy Kettleman kept the scoring going, hitting a double to left center in the top of the second inning and putting IU up 3-0.
• In the bottom of the second inning, junior Brianna Copeland put together a 1-2-3 inning, striking out each batter faced.
• In the top of the third inning, freshman Aly VanBrandt hit her second extra base hit of the game, hitting a double to left field. Redshirt senior Cora Bassett would later double to left center to score VanBrandt and extend Indiana's lead to six.
• Sophomore Chloe Geijer hit a home run out to left field in the top of the fourth inning to give Indiana an 8-0 advantage. Geijer's score was one of four runs the Hoosiers would score in the inning.
• In the bottom of the fifth inning, freshman Alex Cooper made her collegiate debut in the circle, striking out one batter and not allowing a hit to seal the win by run-rule.
