No. 15 Hoosiers Pick Up Two Ranked Wins Over No. 18 Harvard and No. 25 Marist

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 15 Indiana improved to 6-0 as it defeated No. 18 Harvard and No. 25 Marist at Blodgett Pool on day one of the Bruno Classic on Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS VS. HARVARD
- Harvard jumped out to an early 1-0 lead but the Hoosiers fired back with four-straight goals from sophomore Sophia Sollie, graduate student Zoe Crouch, sophomore Nicole Tyner and junior Skylar Kidd brought the game to a 4-1 advantage at the 2:36 mark.
- The Crimson got one back with 1:40 remaining but Tyner picked up the steal and fired one-on-one at the goalie to make it 5-2. The frame ended with Harvard adding another in the final minute and a shot opportunity coming up empty at the end of the quarter to make it 5-3.
- Crouch added her second goal with 6:21 on the clock in the second in a transition opportunity on a pass from sophomore Grace Klingler to make it a 6-4 lead. But IU's lead would dwindle down to a 6-6 tie just past the midway point, but got two goals back with under a minute to play. Junior Portia Sasser's 5-meter was good into the left corner of the goal and a 6-on-5 opportunity saw Sollie notch her second goal with just four ticks remaining to take an 8-6 advantage at the break.
- It was all Indiana in the second half, as it built a five-goal lead as Sollie secured a hat trick and a senior Sophie Wazzan goal with 2:18 remaining in the third quarter. Harvard cut the lead down to four with seven second left in the third but IU held a 12-8 advantage.
- Goals from Klingler, Sollie, senior Kiki Mein, Crouch and a goalie goal from Higgs helped push the Hoosiers to a 17-10 victory in the fourth.
KEY MOMENTS VS. MARIST
- Crouch and Sollie got things started for the Hoosiers against the Red Foxes, as it took a 2-1 lead after the first. Indiana tacked on two more in the second before Marist could respond to make it 4-2 with 3:43 remaining.
- Kidd added her second goal of the day on a 6-on-5 opportunity with 1:24 as it pushed the IU lead to 5-2 at the break.
- Senior Kallie White knocked in two goals for Indiana in the third, as it continued to build a lead and take an 8-4.
- It was another onslaught of goals for Indiana in the fourth, as it outscored Marist 5-1 in the final quarter of action to take its second win over Marist this season.
NOTES
- Sollie and Crouch each had hat tricks against Harvard as seven Hoosiers scored in the first win of the day against Harvard.
- Sophomore goalie Jasmine Higgs recorded nine saves and her first career goal in the win.
- Senior Kallie White paced the way with four assists. Tyner had a pair of goals and a team-high three steals as IU picked up 10 steals.
- Kidd scored a team-high five goals in the win over Marist while Crouch added a hat trick. White and Sollie each chipped in two goals.
- Seven players recorded an assists against the Red Foxes. Tyner led the way with two steals.
- Higgs had 13 saves and Klingler won all four sprints against Marist.
