DAVIS, Calif. – No. 16 UC Davis scored the go-ahead goal with 2:20 left in the fourth quarter as No. 12 Indiana fell 9-7 on the road on Thursday evening.

KEY MOMENTS

UC Davis (7-14, 0-2 Big West) took a two-goal advantage midway through the first as junior Portia Sasser connected on her 14^th goal of the season at the 3:30 mark to get the Hoosiers (18-4, 0-1 MPSF) on the board. Juniors Skylar Kidd and Sophia Sollie connected while senior Kiki Mein netted one with just seven seconds to go as IU trailed 4-3 after one.
Indiana's deficit was as many as three in the second quarter before graduate student Zoe Crouch netted her first goal with 4:01 to play. Sollie pulled Indiana with in one, 6-5, on her second goal of the night on a 6-on-5 opportunity and where it would remain at the break.
Both teams were deadlocked through the majority of the third quarter as Crouch was able to tie things up on a 5-meter penalty with 46 seconds in the frame. UC Davis would respond on its next possession to take a 7-6 lead at the end of three.
Sollie's hat trick tied the game up in the fourth, but UC Davis' Gianna Nocetti pulled the lead back to one with 2:20 remaining. Indiana had a good look with under a minute to play but Kidd's shot was off the top of the cage as the Aggies added one for insurance in the final seconds.

NOTES

Sollie led Indiana with a hat trick, her 15th multi-goal performance this season.
Crouch had two goals and drew two exclusions.
Senior Sophia Wazzan recorded a team-high three steals.
Kidd had a pair of assists to lead Indiana while Higgs recorded nine saves in goal.
