BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 12 Indiana couldn't overcome a slow second half as it fell 17-5 to No. 2 Cal in MPSF action on Saturday at Spieker Aquatic Center.

KEY MOMENTS

It was a competitive first quarter as the two teams traded goals throughout the frame with four different goal scorers getting on the board early. Junior Sophia Sollie started things off with a 6-on-5 goal with 6:03 on the clock to tie the game at 1-1.
The two teams traded goal with graduate student Zoe Crouch tying the game up at 4-all with just over a minute left in the first. Cal would get the last answer in the frame and took the narrow 5-4 edge.
The Bears pushed its lead in the second quarter with three unanswered goals as sophomore Nicole Tyner got one back for Indiana, who trailed 8-5 at the break.
The second half belonged to Cal, holding the Hoosiers scoreless in the third and fourth quarters and scored nine unanswered goals.

NOTES

Five different players for IU scored goals in the game – Sollie, Crouch, Tyner, sophomore Louisa Downes and sophomore Grace Klingler.
Klingler and junior Grace Hathaway had the team's two assists.
Senior Kallie White had a team-high two steals.
Indiana moves to 18-5 on the season and 0-2 in MPSF play.
