No. 16 Indiana Wins 10 Races on Opening Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 16-ranked Indiana rowing won 10 of 14 races on the first day of the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, IU's season opening event, Saturday (March 16) on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The Hoosiers posted a 27-4 head-to-head record between two sessions, not finishing worse than second in any race. IU's Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, Third Varsity Four and Second Novice Eight each won both their morning and afternoon races. No. 13 Duke and RV Wisconsin featured among IU's opponents.
Indiana's V8 toppled Duke and Notre Dame in the afternoon with a time of 6:18.639, one second faster than the Blue Devils and over nine seconds quicker than the Fighting Irish. During the morning, IU's top boat went 6:20.564 to beat Wisconsin (6:25.966), Navy (6:28.504) and San Diego (6:30.461).
