BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis (6-9, 0-2 B1G) dropped a close match against Minnesota (8-5, 1-0 B1G), 4-3, at the IU Tennis Center.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers secured the doubles point with wins behind No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches to go up, 1-0.
• Freshman Magdalena Swierczynska put the Hoosiers up 2-0 after she dominated No. 5 singles winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
• The Golden Gophers won the second match in No. 2 singles to put them on the board.
• Graduate student Lene Mari Hovda extended the lead after she came up with a big win in No. 4 singles. She won the first set 7-6 (7-5) after entering a tiebreaker set and finished the match with a dominating performance in the second set, 6-2.
• Minnesota tied up the match 3-3 after two three-set hard fought battles in No. 1 and 6 doubles.
• The No. 3 singles match would be deciding match. Freshman Li Hsin Lin fought hard in two tiebreaker sets. She won the first set 7-5 before falling 6-7 (4-7) in her first tiebreaker. The third set was all tied up 4-4 before Lin and UM's Aiva Schmitz entered a tiebreaker set. Schmitz would take the third set 7-6 (7-1) to clinch the final point.

• Swierczynska and Hovda won their first conference singles matches as Hoosiers.
