Indiana Men’s Tennis takes down Northwestern, 4-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– It was a successful Friday night for the Hoosiers, as they defeated Northwestern, 4-1, in Evanston, Ill.

Indiana would open up the evening with success in doubles play. Jagger Saylor and Ilya Tiraspolsky would strike first, taking the win at No. 1 doubles, 6-2. Facundo Yunis and Luc Boulier would follow up with a win at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, to secure the lead for Indiana heading into singles play.

In singles play, wins from Facundo Yunis and Ilya Tiraspolsky would put the Hoosiers in position to clinch the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles.

Jagger Saylor would end the match with a win at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-1.

With the win, Indiana improves to 16-9 on the season and 4-4 in conference play.

Indiana will close out the regular season on Sunday with a Noon match against Illinois.
