Indiana Picks Up Win at Iowa on Saturday

IOWA CITY, IOWA ––– Indiana put together a complete effort in Saturday's series-clinching victory at Iowa, defeating the Hawkeyes, 9-1.
With the win, Indiana's season record improves to 33-13 and 9-7 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have won ten of their last 11 games.
INDIANA 9, IOWA 1
KEY MOMENTS
• Both teams' defenses were leading the charge in the first two innings, keeping it to a 0-0 game.
• Indiana took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when junior Taylor Minnick hit a solo home run.
• Iowa tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from Young.
• The Hoosiers took the lead for good in the fourth inning when senior Brooke Benson hit an RBI single to left field with senior Cora Bassett and freshman Alex Cooper scoring on the play to make it a 3-1 game.
• In the top of the sixth, Indiana's offense really got going, putting up five runs to bring Indiana's lead to 8-1.
• It started with a solo home run from Bassett. Later in the inning, the Hoosiers charted two more with Cooper and senior Aaliyah Andrews scoring on an Iowa error.
