No. 15 Indiana Rowing Wins Seventh-Straight Dale England Cup Title

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Dale England Cup remains in Bloomington.
No. 15-ranked Indiana rowing won its eighth Dale England Cup Championship Saturday (April 27) at the Dale England Rowing Center on Lake Lemon. The Hoosiers defeated conference opponent Michigan State in the regatta.
IU swept the six races on the day to clinch the cup for a seventh-straight season. Earning 18 points towards the team score in the final race, Indiana's Varsity Eight won in a time of 6:49.9, 5.4 seconds faster than the Spartans. The Second Varsity Eight, winning in a time of 6:59.3 with a 17.2-second margin of victory, also scored as well as the Varisty Four with a 7:55.4 time and 10.4-second difference.
Indiana celebrated 14 seniors following the trophy presentation: Abbey Armstrong, Madeline Anderson, Emily Bowden, Anya Hardwick, Piper Maaka, Aidan McIntyre, Megan Mills, Niamh Monk, Katherine Nelson, Paige Ohrvall, Sofia Sperduto, Avery Thorpe, Lili Toledano and Isabel Velasquez.
Saturday's racing was Indiana's final buildup to the 2024 Big Ten Rowing Championships. Last season, IU earned a program-record third-place finish at the conference competition, helping build its résumé for an NCAA Championships appearance.
