
Indiana Sweeps Michigan State in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich. –––– Indiana closed out the weekend with a 7-2 win over Michigan State, earning a sweep of the Spartans on Sunday afternoon.
Junior Brianna Copeland led the way with a dominant day in the circle, throwing a complete game and career-high 12 strikeouts.
Indiana's record now stands at 26-12 on the season and 3-6 in the Big Ten.

KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana got the game started with a bang as junior Brianna Copeland hit a lead-off home run in the first at-bat of the game, crushing a ball over the left field wall.
• The Hoosiers kept it going in the first with junior Taylor Minnick nearly going back-to-back on the home runs, hitting a double off the right center wall.
• A few at-bats later, redshirt senior Cora Bassett brought in two runs on a line drive out to right center to make it a 3-0 score. In the next at-bat senior Aaliyah Andrews had an RBI single up the middle, scoring Bassett and making it a 4-0 game.
• In the bottom of the first inning, Michigan State got on the board with a home run from Sydney Doloszycki to make it 4-1.
• Later in the first inning, Indiana's corner outfielders made back-to-back impressive plays with Andrews sliding in shallow right field to make the catch, followed by Minnick making a catch for the final out while on the road toward the left field fence.
• In the bottom of the second and third inning, Copeland got out of both innings in six batters faced, striking out four of those six.
• Minnick added on another run for the Hoosiers in the top of the fourth when she doubled to right center to score freshman Alex Cooper and make it a 5-1 game.
• The Spartans would draw closer, bringing the score to 5-2 when Britain Beshears doubled and scored Doloszycki.
• In the top of the seventh, Indiana had the bases loaded, junior Sarah Stone scored on an error by the catcher, following right behind, sophomore Avery Parker slid in to home and scored.
• To end the game, Copeland struck out three batters for the final outs of the game.
