COLUMBUS, Ohio — Eight out of 10 games remain in Big Ten Conference play as Indiana men's soccer (2-3-3, 1-1-0 B1G) pays a visit to No. 4-ranked and undefeated Ohio State (7-0-1, 2-0-0 B1G) Friday (Sept. 26) night at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Fans unable to attend the match can watch on the Big Ten Plus digital platform.
Coming off a 1-0 defeat to No. 21 Maryland last week, a match in which the Hoosiers outshot their opponent 16-14, head coach Todd Yeagley expressed positivity in the buildup to Friday's match:
"I'm pleased with how they're responding, and you've just got to say if the performance continues that good things will happen," Yeagley said. "I've always said that, and typically it's how it's turned out."
KICKING OFF
• Indiana and Ohio State are led by former IU teammates Todd Yeagley and Brian Maisonneuve, respectively, who would also go on to coach together in Bloomington. Yeagley and Maisonneuve both won national player of the year awards as seniors in 1994, and Maisonneuve served on Yeagley's IU staff from 2010-17 before taking the reins at Ohio State in 2018.
• IU has played 172 consecutive matches without back-to-back regular season losses. The streak spans 3,980 days (10 years, 10 months, 23 days) in total dating back to November 1, 2013.
ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
• Following a 1-1 draw with Cleveland State in its season opener, Ohio State has won seven straight to boast a 7-0-1 unbeaten start. The Buckeyes are coming off consecutive conference victories in which they outscored Penn State and Rutgers by a combined scored of 8-0.
• The Buckeyes are led by seventh-year head coach Brian Maisonneuve, who has compiled a 41-50-18 record in Columbus. Maisonneuve was a two-time All-American at IU between 1991-94.
• Ohio State leads the Big Ten with 22 goals in eight matches, an average of 2.8 goals per game. Nine different Buckeyes have opened their season accounts, led by freshman forward David Ajagbe and junior midfielder Luciano Pechota (four each).
