Hoosiers Show Out in Commodore Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. ––– Indiana men's and women's track and field had a productive day in their first road trip of the season. On the day, the Hoosiers won 15 events and combined for 43 personal bests at David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center on Saturday.
The day started in the field, where freshman Josie Page had a great start in the women's high jump. She finished second in the event with a personal best of 1.71m/5-7.25.
Freshman Vince Davero had a great performance in the long jump. He finished first in the event with a personal best 7.57m/24-10.
One the track, Andrew Mangum won the first event for the Hoosiers of the day. He finished the 800m with a personal best 1:50.18.
Freshman Hannah Alexander had a great performance in the women's weight throw. She earned a third place finish with a personal best 19.19m/62-11.5.
Seniors Hunter Smith (19.62m/64-4.25) and Tyler Reyna (19.21m/63-0.25) set big personal records in the weight throw to finish first and second in the event.
Freshman Seth Brosseau had a great showing in the men's shot put. He set a personal best (17.65m/57-11) to win the event.
The women's 1000 meter featured four Hoosiers finishing in the top 10. Sophomore Lily Myers lead the pack finishing third (2:49.46). She was followed by Freshman Veronica Hargrave in fourth (2:49.55), Senior Taylor Fox in sixth (2:52.13), and Freshman Nola Somers Glenn in seventh (2:53.67).
On the men's side, Sophomore Aidan Lord (2:23.97) and Freshman Matt Kim (2:25.73) took first and third place respectively in the men's 1000 meter relay.
The Hoosiers swept the top three spots in the women's 600 meters. Sophomore Amelia Dodds finished first, followed by Sophomore Cambell Wamsley in second, and Sophomore Ryann Parrish in third.
Junior John Colquitt recorded the third fastest 60 meter hurdle in school history to win the event. Sophomore Garrett Messer also finished second with a time of 8.42.
Junior Makayla Hunter had a strong performance in the women's shot put. Her 16.72m/54-10.25 performance earned third in the event.
Three Hoosiers finished in the top 10 of the 300 meter. Freshman Kiera Davis lead the trio by winning the event (39.25). Sophomore Symone Adams followed in fifth place (40.08) and Junior Kylee Poulton in seventh (40.43).
Senior Morgan Snow came out with the win in the 200 meter (24.64). Sophomore Kristina Vincic also finished third in the event (24.87).
On the men's side, Junior Trelee Banks set a new personal best to win the 200 meter finals (21.14) to win the event. Christian Woodson (4., 21.71) and Junior Novo Onovwerosuoke (6., 21.86) were also able to finish in the top 10.
Senior Mahogany Jenkins (12.48/40-11.5) and Junior Kelly Moran (12.14/39.10) finished the day for the Hoosiers by finishing first and second respectively in the women's triple jump.
To finish the day, the Hoosiers came out on top in the women's 4x400 relay. Group A finished with a time of 3:43.78.
