Indiana Continues Fall Success in Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. — The Indiana University men's tennis team delivered a strong showing this weekend at the ITA Sectionals which took place at the University of Georgia.

Facundo Yunis was the only Hoosier competing in singles. He won his opening match against the University of Kentucky's Matthew Rankin before falling in the round of 16 to Georgia's William Jansen.

In doubles, Indiana had two teams reach the semifinals. Sam Landau and Facundo Yunis defeated pairs from Florida Atlantic and Georgia before losing to Auburn's sibling duo, Billy and Freddy Blaydes. Matteo Antonescu and Michael Andre also advanced, picking up wins against Auburn and Kentucky before falling to Louisville's Matei Cristian Onofrei and Andre Steinback.

With both IU teams eliminated in the semifinals, the third-place match featured an all-Hoosier showdown. Landau and Yunis defeated Antonescu and Andre 6-4, 7-6 (11-9).
