Hoosiers' Shine with Strong Singles Performances in Madison

MADISON, Wisc –––– The Indiana Men's Tennis Team wrapped up a strong weekend at the Big Ten Individual Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
Strong singles runs highlighted the tournament for the Hoosiers. Facundo Yunis advanced to the semifinals after posting wins over opponents from Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin. Yunis' tournament ended in a tight semifinal battle against Wisconsin's Michael Minasyan, falling 4-6, 6-1, 10-4.
Ben Pomeranets also made a run of his own. Pomeranets reached the quarterfinals with comeback victories over Purdue's Stefan Simeunovic and Nebraska's Henry Lamchinniah, before dropping a close match to Michigan State's David Saye.
The rest of the Hoosiers competing in singles — Karan Raghavendra, Sam Scherer, Aidan Atwood and Deacon Thomas — all picked up wins in the main draw before being knocked out later in the tournament.
In doubles, Facundo Yunis and Ben Pomeranets continued their singles momentum and made a semifinal run. The pair defeated Wisconsin's Collin Beduhn/Sachiv Kumar and Nebraska's Henry Bilicic/Colson Wells before falling to Michigan State's David Saye/Mitchell Sheldon 6-4.
