No. 24 Indiana to Host No. 27 Army on Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– No. 24 Indiana Wrestling will have its third home match of the year and first in Wilkinson Hall on Saturday at 2 p.m. when it hosts No. 27 Army.
The Hoosiers enter the weekend at 4-1 after winning two duals last weekend. The Black Knights are 0-2 and seeking their first dual win of the season.
CMU & LITTLE ROCK REWIND:
-Indiana went 2-0 in its dual matches last weekend, defeating Central Michigan at home, 33-7 and winning at No. 22 Little Rock, 25-16.
-Against Central Michigan, Indiana won eight of the 10 bouts with five matches won in bonus-point style.
-Joey Buttler (149) earned his first career ranked victory in his 6-1 decision win over No. 30 Jimmy Nugent.
-Indiana got its first ranked dual win of the season in the victory at No. 22 Little Rock in the first meeting between the two programs.
-Freshman Matt Kowalski bumped up to heavyweight and earned his first career dual victory in an 8-4 decision over Michael Gasper.
-No. 14 Jacob Moran had two wins across the duals to stay undefeated at 8-0 on the season.
ARMY PREVIEW:
-Indiana and Army will face off on Saturday for the first time since 1930. Indiana defeated Army, 26-6, on Jan. 18, 1930 in their only dual meeting.
-Both teams are ranked as Indiana is No. 24 and Army is No. 27 in the latest dual rankings.
-Army has five ranked wrestlers. There are potential ranked matchups at 141, 157 and 197 lbs.
-The Black Knights are 0-2 so far this season with losses to No. 2 Nebraska and No. 27 Wisconsin.
-They also had four champions at the Princeton Open, three flight winners at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic and hosted tournaments in back-to-back weekends. They had a total of four champions in their home tournaments.

-Across the latest national rankings, Indiana has seven Hoosier wrestlers ranked in the top-33 at their weight class.
-This matches the most ranked wrestlers Indiana had at any point in last season's campaign, too.
-Indiana's ranked wrestlers include No. 14 Jacob Moran (125), No. 23 Henry Porter (141), No. 33 Bryce Lowery (157), No. 23 Tyler Lillard (165), No. 30 Derek Gilcher (174), No. 14 Sam Goin (184) and No. 13 Gabe Sollars (197).
-Prior to the recent set of rankings, Logan Frazier was ranked No. 33 at 133 lbs. by both InterMat and FloWrestling.
-As a team, Indiana ranks No. 24 with the best dual lineup according to InterMat.
HIGH-LEVEL NON-CON:
-The Big Ten Conference always provides high level competition in Indiana's dual schedule, but the Hoosiers have their toughest non-conference dual schedule in years on deck.
-In addition to matches against Lock Haven, Columbia and Central Michigan, Indiana will face three ranked opponents in the non-conference slate.
-As it currently stands in the latest InterMat rankings, Indiana traveled to No. 15 Oklahoma (Nov. 23) to No. 22 Little Rock (Dec. 7) and will host No. 27 Army (Dec. 13).
-As a result to the stronger dual schedule, Indiana will wrestle in fewer tournaments on their main schedule.
