
Indiana Track and Field Finish Strong in Final Day of Windy City Invite

CHICAGO, Ill. – Indiana track and field concluded a productive Windy City Classic at the Gately Stadium on Saturday (February 15) with four event wins and many personal bests on the day.
The Hoosiers totaled eight event wins and many personal bests through the two-day meet.
"We were able to improve on several of our season best this weekend," said head coach ed Beathea.
"Tony (Provenzano) looked good in the 3000m, Makayla (Hunter) keeps improving on her lifetime best in the Shot Put, Tyler (Reyna) had a lifetime best in Pole Vault, and Trelee (Banks-Rose) looked strong in both the 60m and 200m this weekend. We took a good step forward in preparing for the Big Ten Championship."
The Day started on the track, where Indiana would take four of the first five events of the day.
Tamer Saleh started the day winning the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.21. Novo Onovwerosuoke (21.70) joined Saleh in the top-ten, finishing ninth overall.
Tony Provenzano (8:05.46; PR) and Nolan Satterfield (8:07.56; PR) followed up by taking first and second respectively in the men's 3000-meter run.
Nola Somers Glenn (2:08.70) continued the Hoosiers streak by winning the women's 800-meter race. Taylor Fox (2:11.17), Maddie Russin (2:11.40), and Lily Myers (2:12.08) all joined Somers Glenn in the top-ten, finishing fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively.
Tralee Banks-Rose showed out in the men's 200 meter dash. He finished third overall, finishing in a new personal best, 21.00.
The quartet of Cambell Wamsley, Veronica Hargrave, Kylee Poulton, Jania Hodges combined to finish fourth in the women's 4x400-meter relay.
In the field, Indiana saw two finishes in the top-five of the men's shot put. Seth Brosseau and Dane Sebert finished third and fourth respectively.
On the women's side, Makayla Hunter (17.32m/56-10) set a new personal best to win the shot put, giving Indiana their fourth event win of the day. Her marks is also best for a top-20 mark in the nation.
Kelly Moran (12.28m/40-3.5) set a new personal best in the women's triple jump, moving her to seventh in school history for the event.
On the vault, Tyler Carrel came in second in the men's pole vault. his mark of 5.47m/17-11.25 currently ranks in the top-25 in the nation and top-ten in the Big Ten.
