LOS ANGELES – Three Hoosiers had two goals each but were overpowered by No. 4 UCLA, 19-9, on Sunday in MPSF Action at Spieker Aquatic Center.

KEY MOMENTS

The Hoosiers (12-6) were paced by a pair of goals in the first from senior Portia Sasser, but UCLA's offense was clicking as it took an 8-3 lead after one.
IU's defense kept the Bruins (13-3) to just one goal on the board in front half of the second quarter as junior Grace Klingler made it a 9-4 game with 4:13 to play. The game went to a 10-4 advantage for UCLA at the break.
In the third, Indiana put up three more goals including a 6-on-5 opportunities from senior Skylar Kidd and junior Savannah Batchelor.
Goals for the Hoosiers in the fourth came off a penalty and powerplay chances with seniors Grace Hathaway and Sophia Sollie finding the back of the net.

NOTES

Klingler, Sasser and Kidd all tied a team-high two goals.
Sasser added two more assists for a team season-high of 39 and had a team-high five points on in the contest.
Hathaway had a team-high two steals.
Junior goalie Jasmine Higgs was active in the cage, recording eight saves. She has recorded 109 saves through 17 games this season.
Kidd added a sprint win to her season total of 35.
