Indiana Welcomes No. 7 Oregon to Andy Mohr Field

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Softball will play in its final home series of the season this weekend (April 25-27) as it hosts No. 7 Oregon at Andy Mohr Field.
The Hoosiers have won two of their last three games and currently are 30-13 overall with an 8-8 Big Ten record.

- Indiana leads the nation in three statistical categories: batting average (.386), doubles per game (2.14) and on base percentage (.477).
- Indiana is in the home stretch of the regular season as there are two weekends of play left and six total games remaining ahead of the Big Ten Tournament.
- Five Hoosiers have a .400 or better batting average. Taylor Minnick (.508), Madalyn Strader (.449), Avery Parker (.432), Kinsey Mitchell (.407) and Aly VanBrandt (.402) all are hitting the mark.
- Minnick's .508 batting average is second-best in the NCAA and the top mark in the Big Ten. She only trails Sophia Knight of Boise State who is hitting .520 at the plate.
- Minnick is one double away from breaking the program's career (54) and single-season records (19). She is currently tied with Cora Bassett for the season record and Moni Armendarez for the career record.
LAST TIME OUT:
- Indiana put together a dominant display in all facets on Wednesday at Andy Mohr Field. The Hoosiers beat Ball State in five innings, 14-1.
- The win over Ball State pushed Indiana to 30 wins in the 2025 campaign, marking three consecutive years of 30-plus wins.
- With the win, Indiana went undefeated in single-game midweek games in 2025, going 5-0 in such contests.
- Copeland nearly pitched a complete game and earned the win to improve her season record to 14-6.
- Eight different Hoosiers recorded a hit and three different Hoosiers hit a home run in the game. Taylor Minnick, Brianna Copeland and Aly VanBrandt all went yard.
- Hannah Haberstroh hit her first career triple in the bottom of the fourth inning.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
- Oregon has put together an impressive 2025 season, posting a 41-5 record and a 14-2 mark in conference play.
- They have notched six ranked victories this season, including No. 5 Tennessee, No. 22 Missouri, No. 8 Florida State (twice), No. 6 UCLA (twice).
- The Ducks' only losses have come to Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington, Loyola Marymount and No. 6 UCLA.
- At the plate, Oregon is led by Kedre Luschar, Rylee McCoy and Steffini Ma'ake. Luschar is hitting a team-best .465 at the plate while McCoy and Ma'ake have 14 and 13 home runs, respectively.
- Oregon's two main arms in the circle have been stellar all season. Lyndsey Grein has a 1.15 ERA and a 25-1 record while posting 170 strikeouts. Elise Sokolosky also has a 2.03 ERA and an 11-2 mark in the circle. Both pitchers are holding opposing hitters to under a .150 batting average on the season.

- Indiana leads the all-time series with Oregon, 2-1. Last year, Indiana beat Oregon, 7-5, to open the 2024 season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla.
