Indiana Drops Saturday Showdown to No. 7 Oregon

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– Indiana lost the second game of the series with No. 7 Oregon on Saturday, falling, 9-1, in six innings at Andy Mohr Field.
The Hoosiers' season record now stands at 30-15 and 8-10 in Big Ten play.
No. 7 OREGON 9, INDIANA 1 (F/6)
KEY MOMENTS
• Oregon opened the game with five first inning runs. The scoring came from an RBI single from Ryle McCoy and 2-run doubles from Emmy Cox and Braisey Rosa.
• In the bottom of the second Aly VanBrandt hit a double to the right center gap to start the frame, but the Hoosiers could not get her home, so the score remained 5-0.
• Taylor Minnick added on an additional double to her new career (56) and season (21) program records when she doubled to left center in the bottom of the third.
• Oregon added on another run three runs in the top of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 8-0.
• In the bottom of the fifth, Avery Parker doubled and Brianna Copeland came home to make it an 8-1 game.
• Oregon got the deciding run for the run rule on a homer from McCoy in the top of the sixth inning.
