Indiana Claims Two Wins in Opening Double Header

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team secured both wins against Kennesaw State and Butler in its spring season debut in the IU Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

The Hoosiers used singles momentum to claim a hard-fought 5-2 win against the Owls. They carried the energy into their match against the Bulldogs, shutting out their opponent (4-0) to maintain the undefeated streak in the series.

Key Moments vs. Kennesaw State

After Kennesaw State secured the doubles point, freshman Hi'ilani Williams clinched No. 5 singles (6-1,6-1) first to put the Hoosiers on the board, tying the contest 1-1.
Immediately following, senior Nicole Teodosescu took No. 4 singles (6-1,6-1) to put Indiana on top, 2-1.
A.Teodosescu claimed her first singles win in her collegiate career, securing No. 2 singles (6-2,6-2) to give the home team a 2-point advantage over the Owls.
Freshman Ameia Sorey took the match to three sets at No. 1 and earned a hard-fought win (3-6, 7-6, 7-5) to gain another point for Indiana.
Sophomore Elisabeth Dunac clinched the match for IU after taking No. 3 singles in three sets.
