Indiana Men’s Tennis Opens 2026 Season with Butler and Ball State.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– Indiana Men's Tennis is set to kick off the 2026 spring season this weekend with a double-header of home matches against Butler and Ball State on Saturday, January 10, at the IU Tennis Center

The day will begin with the match versus Butler at 11 a.m., followed by the match against Ball State at 4 p.m.

The Hoosiers enter the 2026 season with a few new faces, along with multiple returning members of last year's team.

Indiana has veteran leadership this year, with Luc Boulier, Sam Scherer, Deacon Thomas, and Jip van Assendelft all competing in their senior season. Michael Andre is the only graduate on the roster, returning to the team for his sixth year.

Juniors Sam Landau, Facundo Yunis, and Ben Pomeranets look to keep the momentum rolling after a strong fall season, where Landau and Yunis both competed in the NCAA Individual Championships.

Indiana's sophomore class includes Matteo Antonescu, Braeden Gelletich, and Karan Raghavendra, all of them returning to the Hoosiers for their second year.

The Hoosiers' freshman class includes Aryan Badlani and Aidan Atwood. Atwood joined Indiana last spring as a transfer from Georgia and redshirted during the 2025 season.

Indiana has lots of momentum built up from the fall schedule, headlined by duo Sam Landau and Facundo Yunis qualifying and competing in the NCAA Doubles Championships, with Landau also competing in the singles competition after splitting the championship at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals.

Looking to Saturday, Indiana will face a Cleveland State team that finished 13-9 in their 2024 campaign, and a Ball State team that posted an 11-11 record last season.
