No. 6 Hoosiers Seek More Big Ten Podiums Friday

MINNEAPOLIS – No. 6-ranked Indiana will send seven athletes to championship finals on Friday (Feb. 20) night, the third night of competition at the 2026 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Championships inside the Jane K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
Indiana secured 10 finalists from Friday morning's preliminary session and will also swim as the No. 2 seed in the 400-yard medley relay. The Hoosiers sit No. 2 in the team standings coming into the evening.
The swimming portion of the evening session will kick off with three Hoosiers in the 100-yard backstroke championship final: freshman Alex Shackell and junior Miranda Grana – coming off their 100-yard butterfly podium Thursday night – as well as senior Mya DeWitt.
Indiana will have two swimmers in the 200-yard breaststroke consolation final – sophomore Jonette Laegreid and senior Reese Tiltmann – before four Hoosier compete in the 50 freestyle. Freshman Liberty Clark and senior Kristina Paegle, the two quickest women in program history, highlight as the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds in the championship final, while freshman Grace Hoeper takes on the consolation, and senior Chiok Sze Yeo will swim in the C.
Juniors Lily Witte and Ella Roselli sprang into the 3-meter diving championship. Freshman Kaylee Bishhop will start IU's night in the consolation final after placing 15th in the prelims.
