Hoosiers Return Home to Face No. 5 Ohio State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The No. 60 Indiana men's tennis team returns home to Bloomington to face the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, March 20, at 3 p.m. ET.
Indiana returns to action after splitting its two West Coast matches last weekend. The Hoosiers fell to No. 45 Oregon 4-3 and defeated Washington 4-3 to pick up their first Big Ten win of the season. Indiana remains in this week's ITA rankings at No. 62. The Hoosiers still maintain two ranked doubles teams, with Sam Landau and Jip van Assendelft coming in at No. 38, while Matteo Antonescu and Michael Andre rank No. 62.
Ohio State enters the match with a 15-3 record, with eight of those wins coming against ranked opponents. Most notably, the Buckeyes defeated No. 1 Wake Forest and No. 1 Virginia in back-to-back weekends. Ohio State's three losses this season came against No. 7 Texas, No. 10 Baylor, and No. 46 Michigan State.
Indiana and Ohio State have faced two common opponents this season. Both the Hoosiers and Buckeyes defeated Toledo 4-0, and both programs faced Virginia. Ohio State defeated Virginia twice, 5-2 and 4-2, with Virginia ranked No. 1 in both matches. Indiana lost to No. 2 Virginia 4-1 earlier this season.
Ohio State enters the match with five players ranked in singles: No. 9 Aidan Kim, No. 16 Preston Stearns, No. 27 Jack Anthrop, No. 32 Alex Okonkwo, and No. 85 Nikita Filin. In doubles, the Buckeyes have five ranked teams, including the No. 1 pair of Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin. Ohio State's other ranked doubles teams are No. 17 Alex Okonkwo and Alexander Bernard, No. 28 Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima, No. 52 Jack Anthrop and Loren Byers, and No. 56 Jack Anthrop and Preston Stearns.
