Recorded an overall mark of 5-9, competing in three tournaments and earning three dual-match starts ... finished in the final eight of the Cleveland State Open (no seventh-place match occurred) ... won his first wrestleback match at both the Michigan State Open and Southern Scuffle ... started a pair of Big Ten dual matches.
REDSHIRT SEASON (2008-09)
Competed in five events, placing at two of them ... went 14-11 overall with two pins, a tech fall and two major decisions ... won at least one match in every tournament ... placed fifth in the Freshman/Sophomore Division of the Missouri Open ... picked up four victories en route to a sixth-place showing at the Kent State Open ... also had a good performance in the Cleveland State Open, winning four of six matches.
