Bio
SENIOR (2018): Had her best season of her career as she earned All-Big Ten honors…One of the most successful seasons in program history with a 28-6 singles record, including 9-2 in Big Ten play…Combined with Caitlin Bernard and went 29-9 in doubles matches, including 9-1 in Big Ten play…finished her career with 67 singles wins and 73 doubles wins.
JUNIOR (2017): Whalen went 17-16 overall for the season in singles play…Whalen teamed by with Olga Zavarotnaya to play mostly at the No. 1 doubles position for Indiana. The duo went 10-10 overall and won seven matches in dual match play…Against #5 Northwestern, Whalen beat #85 Lee Or in a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Picked up win for the Hoosiers in singles against Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament.
SOPHOMORE (2016): Posted a record of 14-6 singles record for the 2016-17 season in Bloomington. 6-3 singles record in Big Ten play...won first five singles matches of the season, including helping the Hoosiers to wins over Western Michigan and Cincinnati with wins in both matches...won back-to-back matches against Wisconsin and Minnesota near the end of the season.
PREP: A champion at Girls 18 USTA/Midwest Secional Level 4 Doubles in March 2012 ... also won titles at Girls 16 Doubles USTA Regional Segment (Oct. 2011) and Girls 16 Doubles USTA Regional Tournament Segment (July 2011) ... won Illinois High School Association (IHSA) secional title in 2012 ... a two-time Chicago Public Schools City singles champion (2011, 2012) ... runner-up at USTA Midwest Designated for Girls 18 singles ... also placed second at Girls 18 USTA Nationals in doubles in July 2013 and in both singles and doubles in November 2012 in Girls 16 ... third place finisher for Girls 18 Doubles at USTA Regional Segment in St. Louis, Mo. in July y 2013 ... a finalist for Girls 16 doubles at USTA Regional Segment (July 2012), USTA National Open (July 2012), Midwest Section Closed (June 2012) and Midwest Level 3 (May 2012) ... earned a co-No. 1 individual doubles ranking at Girls 16 in 2011.
