Sweeney enters her second season as an assistant coach at Indiana and oversee IU’s Novice program. She comes to Bloomington from Ohio State where she was a two-time top-five finisher at the NCAA Rowing Championships and a Big Ten Champion in 2011.

In her first season with the Hoosiers, Sweeney and the IU coaching staff was named the CRCA National Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Hoosiers to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championship, where they finished 11th.

Since earning her B.A. in English and Political Science in 2011, the Pittsburgh, Pa., native has worked as a coach at both Three Rivers Rowing program in her hometown, and for Dublin Crew, Inc., which serves all central Ohio high school students in Columbus.
