Hailing from Auburn, Indiana, Brooke Richardson (nee Leins) is a double graduate from the University of Indianapolis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership and Design. While at UIndy, she was a member of the Women’s Basketball team. However, Richardson’s interest in a career in college athletics was truly cemented after serving as a Graduate Assistant with the Greyhound Club, the development arm of the Athletic Department. Following graduation, she was hired with the NCAA Eligibility Center, where she spent a couple of years and became an initial eligibility expert. Passionate about returning to campus and now interested in compliance from her time in initial eligibility, Richardson was hired as the Assistant Director of Compliance at Indiana University in Fall 2022. In her current role, she manages camps and clinics, official visits, outside competition, awards, prize money, and plays a vital role in the initial eligibility process. She also serves as the compliance liaison to both the Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams. In her free time, Richardson loves to golf. She and her husband, Blake, reside in Indianapolis, Indiana.

What is your favorite part of working in athletics? Working behind the scenes, helping others, and building relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and staff
What’s the best advice you ever received? Always be the best you can be no matter what you are doing – my dad

What’s your favorite IU memory? When I was a freshman walk-on for the UIndy women’s basketball team and we played IU in an exhibition game at Assembly Hall. I got in with a few minutes left in the game!
