2018-19 (Redshirt freshman): Finished the season with an overall record of 3-5 and competed in one Big Ten dual meet, at Michigan…won by major decision in first bout of the season at the Hokie Open, 14-5 against George Coleman of Chattanooga…finished in fourth-place in freshmen/sophomore at the Hokie Open.
2017-18 (Freshman): Posted an overall record of 16-10 on the season…third-place in freshman/sophomore at the Michigan State Open and Eastern Michigan Open…fourth-place at the Alma Open and Greyhound Open…three MD and one TF for the season…won four of his last five matches of the season, including two MD in the Greyhound Open.
Prep/Personal: Wrestled four varsity seasons for head coach Dave Maldonado at Merrillville High School … accumulated a 148-26 record at 126 lbs., going 37-3 his senior season with 37 wins in each year … earned two IHSAA State podium finishes (4th in 2016, 3rd in 2017) with three sectional championships, a regional title, and a semi-state crown … also achieved third-place at senior nationals … won four team sectional titles with Merrillville, along with a regional championship and a Duneland Athletic Conference championship … earned three varsity letters in soccer and one in track … trained with the Pirate Wrestling Club at Merrillville … born October 7, 1998 … has three sisters, Alexandra, Gabriela, and Maya; and two brothers, Christiaan and Paul Jr. … intends to major in Kinesiology.
